The multicultural population in the United States is growing at a record pace, with no sign of slowing down. Finding a way to meet the varied needs of a fast-growing multicultural population is essential to the continued success of our healthcare system. But how can our healthcare system advance cultural understanding and responsiveness and achieve prosperity when fewer than 10 percent of its doctors and nurses mirror the cultural or ethnic heritage of the patients they serve today? And how can healthcare professionals effectively treat their patients in the future as this cultural gap continues to widen? The Center for Multicultural Competence in Healthcare Organizations (CMCHO) is an independent organization created to assess, educate, train and certify healthcare organizations in the area of multicultural competency. The only company of its' kind, CMCHO is at the forefront of leading hospitals and other healthcare organizations in taking better care of our country's increasingly, more diverse patient populations. Using the standards developed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health, CMCHO conducts on-site surveys and assessments of healthcare organizations to evaluate leadership attitudes, beliefs and behaviors, current policies and procedures and resulting clinical outcomes. The results of these processes are used to develop a unique "game plan" for each healthcare organization to ensure that true cultural competency is realized. We invite you to take our FREE Cultural Competency quiz and organizational assessment or request more detailed product and/or service information. Multicultural populations in America:
